Nisap Maskinfabrik was founded by blacksmith Nis A. Pedersen, when he took over a bankrupted and worn down smithy.
Production of agricultural machines started in the old smithy.
Production of hydraulic machineries, used e.g. at auto garages.
Switching from agricultural products to material handling equipment.
Erling Pedersen took over the management of the company from his father, Nis.
As part of their growth plans, Nisap Maskinfabrik took over the export company Logitrans in order to speed up the internationalization process.
The first production of fully powered equipment was started.
To ensure the high quality products, demanded in the market, Logitrans A/S introduced the quality control system ISO-9001.
The original Nisap Maskinfabrik and their export company Logitrans merge into one company – now known as Logitrans A/S.
Logitrans A/S introduced a new and more modern logo.
Interthor becomes fully owned subsidiary of Logitrans A/S.
Since the mid-80’s, Logitrans A/S has been exporting to the US market through distributor Interthor, founded by Carl Thorkildson.
As many other production companies, in the aftermath of the global financial crisis, Logitrans A/S started up production in China.
Now, with a few years of experience, we established our own production premises and sales office in Ningbo, China, with our own local, skilled and dedicated staff.
Logitrans A/S celebrated 75 years anniversary on May 1st.
The 75 anniversary also marked a change in management, as Gitte Kirkegaard took over the function as CEO after her father, Erling Pedersen. Along with Dorte Pedersen, Production Director and also daughter of Erling Pedersen, they now constitute the ownership and management of Logitrans A/S.
At the same time, a new chairman was also named.
Keeping up with the demand for our high-end stainless steel products, and in order to improve both quality, finish, efficiency and productivity, while also preparing for future demand, Logitrans A/S invested in a fully automated welding system from Migatronic Automation.
Gitte Kirkegaard and Dorte Pedersen were named Owner Manager of the Year, for their efforts to get the company through the difficult times, caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
CO2 emissions were mapped and a plan for reduction was made. The company also signed a climate partnership with Esbjerg Municipality. In addition, the environmental control system ISO-14001 was introduced.
Logitrans A/S enters a joint venture with Mobile Industrial Robots (MiR), to develop and manufacture a new AMR-driven pallet mover, the LogiRobot.
Our entire board is named winner of the SMV Board of the Year, for small and medium-sized companies in Denmark.
The board was acknowledged for an “Impressive focus on what a board can and must do in relation to the development of the company, together with the owner. Well composed, focus on diversity, digitalization, complementary qualities in the board room – and clear requirements for what the board must contribute. The board of Logitrans is a role model for many small and medium-sized companies.“
Following our joint venture with MiR over the production of a new, semi-automated, AMR driven CoBot, the LogiRobot, we invested in a large-scale fully automated welding robot. This one, also from Migatronic Automation.
History was made, as Logitrans A/S allowed the first ever external investments, as Dansk Ejerkapital obtained a 49% stake of the company.
During the ceremony, CEO Gitte Kirkegaard stated, “We are absolutely certain that our products have an immense potential for further growth in the global market – but it requires a fair bit of courage, more resources and further investments for us to fulfill all of this untapped potential – and that is exactly what we will now start doing!”
In our continuous efforts to improve and enhance both our quality, efficiency and environmental footprint, while also preparing for the future, we invested in a new powder painting robot.
As we exited 2023 and entered 2024, our US distributor Interthor officially changes name to Logitrans US Inc.
During the LogiMat trade show in Stuttgart in March, the new LogiRobot was introduced to the world for the first time.
In the summer of 2024, Logitrans A/S enters a joint venture with JENSEN Denmark, and acquires 50% of domestic competitor, Ole Almeborg A/S.
The LogiRobot is nominated for a prestigious, international intralogistics award, the IFOY AWARD.
The event is celebrated in March at the Intralogistics Test Camp in Dortmund, Germany.
More than 160 qualified employees with large know-how, skills and drive are working globally within Logitrans A/S’ facilities. We have our own production in both Denmark and China. In addition, we have representation offices in Germany, Belgium and the UK. Also, we have a subsidiary in the USA – in Aurora just outside Chicago.
Our sales are composed by direct export to more than 55 countries throughout the world. In total, a 95% of the combined production is exported.
